Hi Everyone,
We will reschedule the night for March/April next year and make it a Jupiter/Orion Night
A big thanks to Lee for all his work to date organising the night!
I am updating the web site accordingly and letting the local radio station know.

Ipswich Saturn Night - The Rain
A decision on whether the Saturn Night goes ahead will be made on Saturday by midday.
The forecast says rain till Sunday, so it is likely that if it is not raining, it will be cloudy.
However, we remain positive and will not make the decision to postpone until we are sure the sky will not be viewable.
Please check this site for updates on Saturday.

Venus Transit of the Sun
SRAA hosted viewing of the transit of Venus at St Mary's School. As well as enjoying this special event ourselves, over 350 primary school students participated as well. Barry introduced the students to the spectacle using a projected image of the Sun to show them
what they were going to see. Members Michael, Rob, Dianne, Anne-Marie,
Chris and Mark used several telescopes to provide a close up encounter.
The students were rapt with the event, and I must say, very well
behaved and attentive.
It was pyjama day at St Mary's so it was a bit of a surprise when the first class came over all dressed in their PJ's (teachers as well)
